Grain Science and Technology(GST)

Grain Science is engaged in simple and implemented research on chemistry, high-quality and technology of cereals, millets and pulses, their products and by-merchandise. Development and alertness of technologies for conservation, fee addition and product diversification of those grains is also undertaken.

Genetic modification of plants might be arguable in commercial applications, however it's miles undeniably useful for research functions. Despite years of effort, it has been remarkably difficult to develop efficient techniques for transformation of grain crops.

Despite years of attempt, it's been remarkably difficult to expand green strategies for transformation (i.E., genetic change) of grain plants. The preferred methods typically involve infecting tissue with Agrobacterium -- a bacterium that clearly transfers DNA to its host genome -- after which stimulating that tissue to regenerate into complete new plant.
